Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis exploded with rage while on the witness stand Thursday, prompting Judge Scott McAfee to call a timeout.
Willis became increasingly unhinged as she was grilled by defense attorney Ashleigh Merchant about her cozy relationship with Nathan Wade, the man Willis handpicked as special prosecutor in her sprawling witch hunt against former President Donald Trump.
“Let’s be clear, because you’ve lied,” Willis shrieked at Merchant, waving around documents. “It is a lie! It is a lie!”
“You’ve been sticking your nose where it doesn’t belong,” the hysterical DA continued her tirade against Merchant. “You think I’m on trial. I’m not on trial no matter how hard you try to put me on trial.”
Judge McAfee jumped in and demanded a five-minute recess, seemingly so the deranged Willis could collect herself. And when they returned to the courtroom, the judge warned Willis he would toss out her testimony if she had any more mental breakdowns on the stand.
