Two minors charged in connection with Kansas City Chiefs parade shooting

Two minors have been charged with gun-related offenses connected to the mass shooting at a Kansas City celebration earlier this week.

“Two juveniles were charged on Thursday, February 15, 2024 by the Office of the Juvenile Officer regarding the incident at the Chiefs’ rally on February 14, 2024,” the 16th Judicial Circuit Court of Missouri said in a statement on Friday.

“The juveniles are currently being held in secure detention at the Juvenile Detention Center on charges related to guns and resisting arrest,” the court statement said.

Authorities say further charges may still come.

“It is expected that additional charges will follow in the future as the Kansas City Police Department’s investigation continues,” the statement noted.

The charges stem from the shooting at a Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl celebration rally on Wednesday, which left one person dead and five others injured. The investigation into the tragic incident remains ongoing as authorities work to piece together exactly what transpired.
