President Joe Biden decided to attend a Hollywood fundraising event in June rather than a Ukraine peace summit in Switzerland.

Biden and former President Barack Obama will attend a Los Angeles fundraiser for the 2024 reelection campaign on June 15, Deadline reported.

At the same time, delegations from more than 50 countries will be in the Swiss city of Lucerne to take part in talks likely to focus on how to mitigate risks stemming from Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine.

The Hollywood-centric fundraiser will include liberal late-night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel moderating a conversation with Biden and Obama.

Biden appeared on Kimmel’s show in 2022.

Kimmel has used his show to create a national debate over healthcare legislation in 2017 after his son was born with a heart defect, and to verbally spar with former President Donald Trump, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee in this year’s election.

Actors George Clooney and Julia Roberts also are expected to attend the L.A. event.

In New York in March, late-night talk show host Stephen Colbert moderated a fundraiser for the Biden campaign that featured a conversation with Biden, Obama, and former President Bill Clinton.

That event raised $26 million, according to the campaign.

Tickets to the Los Angeles event start at $250 and rise to $500,000 for an “event chair” listing, which includes four tickets in the center front orchestra, photo line access, and a reception and after-party.

Proceeds will go to the Biden Victory Fund, a joint committee of the Biden campaign, the Democratic National Committee and state parties.
