Couple Speaks Out After Brutal Robbery by Mob of Juveniles in Baltimore

A couple who was violently assaulted and robbed by a group of at least 20 juveniles near downtown Baltimore has come forward to share their harrowing experience. The attack occurred on May 2nd as the couple was leaving an establishment after watching an Orioles game.

Surveillance footage showed the juveniles approaching the couple from multiple directions. While Baltimore police arrested six females at the time, including five juveniles who were released to their parents, only 18-year-old Deaisha Buchanan faced charges of robbery and theft.

The male victim, who wished to remain anonymous, recounted trying to shield his girlfriend as the mob descended on them. “I tried to guard her pretty much and put the crowd between me and her,” he said. However, his girlfriend was severely beaten by the juveniles. “There was probably like ten people on me, males and females, and at one point they knocked me to the ground and were kicking me in my head and my body,” the female victim stated.

The surveillance video captured the aftermath, with one suspect walking away carrying the female victim’s purse. According to the victim and transaction records, her credit card was illegally used multiple times after the robbery, including for several DoorDash food orders. Her phone also pinged at a residence in the Windsor Mills area later that day.

Despite this evidence, no further arrests have been made in connection with the robbery, leaving the female victim feeling neglected. “I’ve just kind of been swept under the rug. Just kind of told like a new excuse every time,” she lamented.

A friend of the female victim sent a letter to Mayor Brandon Scott, questioning the lack of action and measures to protect citizens from such crimes. The Mayor’s office responded by stating they would pass along the concerns to the Mayor’s Office of Neighborhood Safety and Engagement.

The couple’s experience highlights the brazen nature of juvenile crime in Baltimore and the perceived lack of accountability, leaving many residents feeling vulnerable and unprotected on the city’s streets.
