21-Year-Old Charged in Double Fatal Shooting in Northeast Baltimore

A 21-year-old Baltimore man has been apprehended in connection with a double homicide that occurred in Northeast Baltimore earlier this year. Daquan Woodard was arrested on May 1st for the fatal shootings of Odell Curtis, 40, and Ricardo Brooks-Watters, 32, on February 7th.

The incident unfolded around 9:48 pm that night when police responded to reports of a shooting on the 4400 block of Bel Air Road. Upon arrival, officers discovered Curtis and Brooks-Watters suffering from life-threatening gunshot wounds. Despite being rushed to the hospital, both victims tragically succumbed to their injuries.

Investigators believe Woodard gunned down the two men following a dispute while they were on Belair Road. After a nearly three-month investigation, detectives apprehended the 21-year-old suspect on May 1st. He was transported to Central Booking and charged with two counts of first-degree murder.

The double homicide marked another grim instance of gun violence plaguing Baltimore City. As the community mourns the loss of the two victims, the arrest provides a measure of closure, though questions remain about what sparked the fatal altercation.
