Wildfire Breaks Out at Loch Raven Reservoir in Baltimore County

On Tuesday, a wildfire ignited in a wildland area of the Loch Raven Reservoir in Baltimore County, according to the Baltimore County Fire Department.

Fire crews responded to the scene, where several hundred yards of wildland had caught fire. To assist in combating the blaze, the Baltimore County Police Aviation unit and the Maryland Air National Guard provided air support, dropping water from above onto the burning area.

The fire department did not provide any additional details about potential causes, injuries, or damage from the wildfire incident at Loch Raven Reservoir. Wildland fires can quickly grow out of control, especially during dry conditions, necessitating a rapid multi-agency response to contain the flames and prevent further spread.
