University of Virginia Students Vote To Divest From Israel, Condemn Its War Against Hamas

A dangerously anti-Israel referendum passed at the University of Virginia this week, exposing the radicalism and blatant anti-Semitism infecting liberal colleges.

Despite Jewish students pleading for tolerance, 67% of voters approved a proposal demanding the school divest from Israel over fictitious claims of “apartheid.” This hatred mirrors the anti-Semitic Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement targeting Israel.

The referendum irresponsibly accused Israel of “ethnic cleansing” and denied its right to defend citizens from Hamas terrorism. And it criticized UVA for condemning Hamas rocket attacks that killed innocent Israelis, absurdly insisting the school failed to address imaginary “crimes” by Israel.

This hostility has created a toxic climate for Jewish students, who reported being harassed, spat on, and assaulted on campus. But administrators seem paralyzed by political correctness and allow progressives to bully Jewish students with impunity.

UVA even appointed professors who defend Hamas to a religious diversity task force, showing the school’s wokeness trumps protecting Jews. This endorsement of anti-Israel hate has made many Jewish students feel threatened and unwelcome.

College campuses have become cesspools of far-left propaganda. Rather than teaching critical thinking, schools like UVA indoctrinate students with radical ideologies. The referendum reflects how progressive activism poisons open inquiry and breeds intolerance against Jewish students.

Universities must stop coddling anti-Semitism masquerading as “social justice.” If they cannot protect Jewish students, it’s time regulators step in to curb out-of-control leftist extremism on campus. UVA’s failure to stand up for the Jewish community is disgraceful.
