BREAKING! WCBM Announces Lineup Change After the Passing of Legendary Rush Limbaugh (Video)

Due to the unfortunate passing of talk radio legend, Rush Limbaugh, WCBM has decided to make some programming changes in our daily line-up. Starting Monday April 5th, 2021, Derek Hunter will take over the 12-3pm time slot with Bruce Elliott moving back to the 9-11:45 am shift. Sean Casey will continue as the morning drive host of the newly rebranded “Casey & Company” which will continue to feature local news and sports, Traffic & Weather on the 3’s with Chuck Whitaker and debate and discussion with guests and callers on the hot topics of the day.

“This powerful line-up will feature the voices and hosts that WCBM listeners are already familiar with and will enable our station to include more local content.  Rush was the king of talk radio and can’t be replaced, so we decided to go in a different direction and put the best team on the field.” said Program Director Sean Casey.

Derek Hunter joined WCBM in the fall of 2019 and has entertained and informed listeners with his unique political insights and analysis. Hunter filled in for Rush last year on his national show.

Bruce Elliott has been with WCBM since 2015 and took over Tom Marr’s shift after Tom’s untimely death in 2016. Bruce partnered with Sean for the Morning Drive with Casey & Elliott in 2019.

General Manager Marc Beaven commented on the recent changes, “We are all (WCBM Listeners)  saddened with the passing of Rush Limbaugh, but we have decided to turn our focus to more “Local” oriented programming during the Monday thru Friday 12 noon to 3pm time period. With our strong Local Line-up (6a-3pm) backed up by our National Programming (3p-6pm) we are poised and excited to enter this chapter of Programming for WCBM.”
