Through the end of May, Baltimore stands at more than 140 homicides — the most on record through the first five months of the year.
Often in Baltimore, the homicide rate increases in the summer months. But as of the first day of June, Baltimore’s has seen more homicides this year than at any other time in recorded history.
As of Wednesday night, 145 homicides had been reported in Baltimore in 2017 — six more than had been reported through May in 1993, according to Baltimore Police data compiled by The Sun.
