BALTIMORE (WBFF) — As Baltimore looks to reform its police department, the process to select an independent monitor is underway.
The city has launched a nationwide search to find an independent monitor. This person will be a key player in not only the oversight of reform within the Baltimore Police Department — but the speed at which it will occur.
Once selected the monitor and his or her team will judge for themselves the police department’s rollout of reform measures issuing quarterly reports on the department’s progress.
At city hall — it’s not only the selection of an independent monitor on the mayor’s mind, but the role city residents will play in overseeing police reform.
