Bystanders Recount Horrific Scene of Fatal Baltimore Bus Crash

He remembers an eerie silence, smoke rising from the wreckage, then screams.

At first, Matthew Feldman said, he didn’t know what to do. The 30-year-old carpenter had been driving along Frederick Avenue when he saw the immediate aftermath of Tuesday morning’s deadly bus crash in Southwest Baltimore. It looked like explosives had torn two buses apart.

They were in “such bad shape,” Feldman said, “I didn’t know exactly how I could help some of these people.”
