Orlando Shooter’s Father Visited DC, Met Congressmen

The father of the suspected shooter in the Orlando terror attack visited Washington, D.C. earlier this year and walked the halls of Congress. Last year, he met high-profile lawmakers on another trip.

Seddique Mateen is apparently running for president of Afghanistan, although he lives in the United States. He also broadcasts a television show about Middle Eastern politics.

This year, however, he traveled to the nation’s capital. Mateen, whose son Omar Mateen allegedly killed 49 people and injured more than 50 others in the early morning hours of Sunday in a gay nightclub, documented his trip on Facebook in a series of photos.
