A second Harford County student has been charged with making school threats within a week, according to the Harford County Sheriff’s Office.
On Wednesday, the Sheriff’s Office posted a Facebook message addressing threats against schools, announcing charges against one student for posting threats on social media. By Friday, they reported investigating five additional threats and charging another juvenile “with crimes related to making threats involving the school system.”
The School Resource Officer (SRO) at Fallston High School initiated an investigation after being informed of a juvenile making threats. The student was subsequently charged with making a threat of mass violence and illegal possession of ammunition.
The Sheriff’s Office stated that the investigation is ongoing, with the possibility of additional charges against other individuals.
Harford County Public Schools sent a message to parents from Fallston High School Principal Collins, clarifying:
- Only one Fallston High School student was involved in this incident.
- There was no imminent threat to the school community.
- No weapon was found on school grounds.
Principal Collins emphasized the importance of community vigilance in maintaining school safety, thanking those who reported the incident and the staff and Sheriff’s Office for their swift response. He assured parents that the school is working with Central Office to address the issue and ensure ongoing safety.
The principal concluded by looking forward to continuing Spirit Week and Homecoming Activities as planned.
