Suspect Arrested in Jewish Museum of Maryland Arson Attempt

Baltimore Police have arrested a 66-year-old man suspected of arson at the Jewish Museum of Maryland. Assadollah Hashemi was taken into custody on August 10 in connection with a fire set outside the museum on August 4.

The incident occurred in the unit block of Lloyd Street, where the museum is located. Baltimore City SWAT officers apprehended Hashemi without incident at a residence in the 700 block of Druid Park Lake Drive.

According to police, Hashemi has a history of fire-related crimes. Following his arrest, he was transported to the Central Booking Intake Facility and charged accordingly.
