Montgomery County Officials to Vote on Gang Suppression Funds

ROCKVILLE, Md. (AP) – –

Montgomery County officials are scheduled to vote on funding to help authorities suppress gang activity.

The council is scheduled to vote Tuesday on a supplemental appropriation.

The funding will allow police and the State’s Attorney’s Office to immediately ramp up suppression efforts for gang activity in the county.

County leaders have been working on programs to stop gang activity and coordinate services to at-risk youth.
