Possible Tornado Causes Severe Damage on Kent Island

QUEEN ANNE’S COUNTY, Md. (WBFF) — National Weather Service officials are investigating whether a tornado caused damage to numerous homes in Queen Anne’s County at around 1:30 a.m.

Damage reported from the scene includes multiple roofs blown off homes, trees down and boats tossed into resident’s yards from the water. Officials say one home fully collapses and another was blown off of its foundation.

Officials are asking residents around the Stevensville and Bay City area to shelter in place as crew work to repair down power lines that may be live. About 8,000 residents are without power.
