RX POT SUIT: Until he was released from the Baltimore Ravens this year, Eugene Monroe was the NFL’s foremost advocate for allowing players to use medical marijuana. Now he’s a partner in a company suing Maryland regulators for rejecting its application to grow the drug. Fenit Nirappil of the Post writes GTI officials said they don’t want their lawsuit to further delay the long-beleaguered program.

• “This is a case about a state commission setting rules and then, inexplicably, failing to follow them,” GTI’s attorney, Phil Andrews of the firm Kramon & Graham, told reporters at a news conference Tuesday. Daniel Leaderman of the Daily Record reports the story.

• CJ Lovelace of the Hagerstown Herald Mail reports that GTI was on track to receive a license to grow medical marijuana in Washington County. In the lawsuit, the company calls the state’s selection procedure “illogical, opaque and fatally flawed,” claiming that GTI was illegally removed from the list of companies chosen for pre-approval for a license expected to be worth millions of dollars
