Clinton Lead Over Trump Shrinks To Single Digits – Suffolk Poll

USA Today/Suffolk Poll: Clinton Lead Over Trump Down to Single Digits

Democrat Hillary Clinton still holds a slight edge over Republican Donald Trump in the latest USA Today/Suffolk University national poll, but that lead has been cut to single digits.

Clinton leads Trump by only 5 points today (45.6 percent to 40.4 percent), though she was ahead by 11 points two months ago in the same poll (50 percent to 39 percent.) And her lead is cut to 4 points when two other candidates, Libertarian Gary Johnson and the Green Party’s Jill Stein, are included as options.

But the poll also shows 61 percent of respondents are “alarmed” by the election in which both Trump and Clinton have high unfavorability ratings. According to the poll, 53 percent have and unfavorable view of Clinton, and 60 percent have an unfavorable view of Trump. Twenty percent have unfavorable opinions of both.

The poll talked to 1,000 likely voters by landline and cell phones from June 26 to 29. It has a margin of error of plus or minus 3 percentage points.
