Fatal shootings over the past two days have pushed Baltimore past 100 homicide victims for the year.
The killings occurred in the city’s Northeastern, Eastern, Western, and Southwestern police districts. Baltimore homicides are down from this time last year, when killings surged starting in late April, but ahead of the pace of previous years.
The latest deaths happened around 6 p.m. Thursday in 2700 block of The Alameda, where two men, ages 24 and 20, were shot, police said. They died later at the hospital.
Among the recent victims was Kevon Gant, 29, who last July was the stepfather of a Baltimore boy who at age 8 became the world’s first recipient of a pediatric double-hand transplant. Gant was gunned down Monday night in Northwest Baltimore, police said.
