Who’s Next? Trial Dates For Officers In Freddie Gray Death

BALTIMORE (WJZ) — With news that Baltimore Police Officer Edward Nero was found not guilty on all counts in the death of Freddie Gray, attention now turns to the four remaining officers who have yet to be tried.

Here’s a timeline for the four other officers’ trials: Officer Garrett Miller, Lt. Brian Rice, Sgt. Alicia White and Officer Caesar Goodson Jr.

  • Officer Caesar Goodson: June 6, facing the most serious count of second-degree depraved heart murder.

  • Officer Brian Rice: July 5, for assault and manslaughter charges.

  • Officer Garrett Miller: July 27, on an assault charge.

  • Officer Alicia White: October 13 on manslaughter and assault charges.

Although it’s the second trial of the six, it’s the first with a verdict. The first officer to be tried, Officer William Porter, will face a retrial on September 6 after his first trial ended in a hung jury and mistrial in December.
